2013-01 Santa Story

True Christmas show horror story.

A few weeks ago the show producer asks me to go on at 8:00pm and Santa will go on at 8:30 to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.

But everything is delayed and I go on at 8:25, and they forgot to mention the show backup to "Santa". So, I'm in the middle of my act and who strolls on stage, in a loud jolly voice...none other than the big guy. He walks in front of me..., "Merry Christmas Everyone...Merrrrry Christmas!"

Next trick I have this little kid on stage and "Santa" walks back on stage, stands behind the kid tusstling his hair trying to ask him questions. I remark, "Santa's been hitting the egg nog again!"..and off he goes. As I'm into my next trick I hear "Santa" standing upstage right of me making ho-ho jolly comments to the audience, thinking he was injecting "holiday fun" into the show.

Note to Producers/Directors...stay close off-stage and be prepared to STOP any unreahearsed distractions!
